IT Specialist (Network)

Under the direction of the IT Program Manager, specific duties include:
Analyzing network architecture, proposing enhancements, and performing modifications to meet Agency business needs and assure optimized, secure, and continuous function of the FCA network. Coordinating with the Associate Director and the Program Manager to assure that all network services function in compatibility with FCA's computer systems hardware and software. Participating in all computer systems planning and administration, providing technical guidance and recommendations in the area of computer systems networking. Assisting Agency users and supporting the Network Manager in overall administration of the network services. Researching design alternatives and providing recommendations to the Network Manager and Program Manager ensuring alternatives are compatible with the FCA IT infrastructure. You may qualify at the VH-39 (GS-13) band level if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the VH-38 (GS-12) band in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to meet at least three of the following:
Experience designing network architecture's with routers, switches, and wireless devices including wireless controllers and access points. Experience designing network architecture's with security devices including firewalls and network access control. Experience implementing, administering, securing, and troubleshooting an organization's routers, switches, and wireless devices including wireless controllers and access points. Experience implementing, administering, securing, and troubleshooting an organization's security devices including firewalls and network access control. Experience implementing, administering, securing, and troubleshooting an organization's VoIP phone system. In addition to meeting specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Current and former Federal employees (including VEOA eligibles) must have served one-year (52 weeks) at the next lower grade in the Federal service to meet time-in-grade restrictions per 5 CFR 300, Subpart F, by the closing date of the announcement. Ideal Candidate Statement The ideal candidate has 8
years of relevant experience as a Network Specialist with a least 3 years of experience successfully leading and delivering IT infrastructure projects. IT infrastructure projects of high interest include LAN/WAN, WLAN, VoIP, VPN, FW and NAC implementations and troubleshooting. They will have a proven track record of success in resolving complex issues on their own or with a team. Relevant and up to date Cisco certifications are highly preferred.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
