In order to be considered for this position, you must meet the individual occupational requirement, position requirement, certification requirement and specialized experience requirement for this position. INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT FOR THE GS-1397 JOB SERIES:
Possess a degree in physical and biological sciences, graphic arts, police science, criminology, or law. OR Possess specialized experience performing duties such as examination and comparison of handwriting, printing, typewriting, and other mechanical impressions in order to make determinations of identity or genuineness; analysis of inks, papers, and other recording instruments and materials by chemical, microscopic, and other methods in order to develop information useful in determinations of genuineness, integrity, security, origin, validity of date, or for restoration of mutilated or obliterated matter; specialized document photography and preparation of photographic exhibits to be used for court demonstration purposes, or supervision of such work. POSITION REQUIREMENT:
Possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university. CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
Must be certified by the American Board of Forensic Document Examiners, or otherwise possess a current professionally recognized equivalent certification. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-14 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:
Providing support as an expert analyst to all aspects of forensic document examination and document production. Planning the daily administrative and technical operations of a forensic crime laboratory, and specifically as those operations relate to all aspects of forensic document examination. Planning and assigning work, establishing priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work. Assigning work based on priorities, considering the difficulty and requirements of assignments and the capabilities of supervised staff. Preparing annual work plans, evaluating work performance, and preparing annual appraisals. Hearing and resolving complaints from employees, referring group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
