Software Engineer
Job Highlights Develop and apply advanced approaches and technologies to address critical challenges in collaboration and information sharing, especially through the use of social media-based solutions. Will work in the public interest to solve real-world problems for our government customers for domains such as Healthcare, IRS, and the Department of Defense.
Key Functions - Provide software engineering for projects focusing on the design and implementation of user-facing applications.
- Contribute to research initiatives exploring the development and use of new technologies that enable customer and corporate operations and enhance user experience.
- Work with product managers/owners and engineering leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, and document technical designs.
- Help devise technical solutions within the scope of customer requirements and work with engineering leaders to ensure that designs meet both tactical and strategic technology needs.
Location VA: McLean Campus
Preferred Qualifications - BS and 1-2 years related experience desired.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following:
? Server-side development (e.g., Java Spring, Ruby on Rails, Node.js)
? Client-side development (e.g., Angular.js, Backbone.js, JQuery)
? REST API development
? Data persistence (e.g., MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
? UNIX, Mac OSX, and/or Windows
? UX/interface design and development
? Version control (e.g., Git, SVN)
- Willingness to learn and apply new technologies and approaches.
- Comfortable using collaboration technology to work with remote team members.
- Self-motivated team player.
Minimum Education/ Experience BS
Travel Statement This position will require overnight travel up to 10 % of the time as well as some local travel.
Clearance? Secret
Clearance Statement Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance. For this position, MITRE will consider only applicants with security clearances or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
