Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocating related to the use of computing resources.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar degree or equivalent experience,Employees in California must have a Bachelor's degree in the applicable field, or an applicable certification, equivalent certificate or any required license. Equivalent experience will not be considered.
Required Skills:
Considerable knowledge of operating systems, operating environments, and networks. Ability to anticipate impact on respective operating systems to include: UNIX, High Performance Computing Platforms, such as Sun Microsystems' F15000 or F6800, HP's Superdrome, or a large-scale Linux Beowulf Cluster. Experience with Zone under Solaris 10, ZFS under Solaris 10, and Service Management Facility (SMF) under Solaris 10. In depth knowledge of Solaris 9 & 10, Jumpstart, LDAP, ICSA certified, Familiarity with Microsoft Windows 2000 & 2003, Experience administering a Windows active directory network. Experience administering Windows Servers. Familiar with Roundtable and secure enclaves.
