As a member of our small team, you'll have the chance to work in a truly enchanting environment alongside dedicated professionals who take pride in their work.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in every aspect of the property, from caring for our gardens to assisting with various tasks around the grounds.
Our ideal candidate has a deep passion for horticulture, a keen eye for detail, has experience as a fine gardener, who understands that service to the family doesn't fit into a neat box and is happy to help out where needed.
Responsibilities:
Regular maintenance of garden beds (plant, weed, mulch, deadhead, prune, fertilize, water, blow/rake).
Regular maintenance of turf (weed, seed, clean.
) Monitoring and controlling pests and diseases.
Collaborating with the garden team to adhere to garden maintenance schedules as well as ensuring the overall beauty, health, and functionality of the estate.
Demonstrating creativity in floral arrangements and decorative pieces to enhance the property's aesthetics.
Decorating for holidays and helping with other special events held on the property.
Operating and maintaining garden equipment and tools in safe working condition (trimmer, blower, golf cart, etc.
).
Checking on the swimming pool and spa (in between weekly service visits) including operation of covers, adjusting temperature, and skimming as necessary.
Maintaining fountains and chemical care as required.
Providing exceptional service to the Principals by assisting with various tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of horticultural practices, plant identification, and garden design principles.
A passion for plants and outdoor spaces.
Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
Effective communication skills and a positive attitude.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, push, pull, climb, dig, and work on uneven surfaces for extended periods of time.
Must be able to work in inclement weather conditions (this is a year-round position.
) Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Flexibility and willingness to assist with a variety of duties as needed.
Professional demeanor when interacting with estate residents and visitors.
Degree or certification in horticulture is preferred.
Must possess a driver's license with a clean driving record.
Must be comfortable around dogs.
Full-time, year round position.
