With that, we are looking for an experienced engineer with an established experience in the satellite industry and a solid working experience in the field of spectrum and regulations.
The successful candidate must be passionate about the satellite/space industry and must have a burning desire to compete and win as a team.
This ideal candidate would be a member of the Spectrum Strategy Team, and would help conduct spectrum research & analysis, support corporate development projects, bridge and coordinate our strategy across multiple regulatory bodies (e.
g.
, ITU-R, ETSI, 3GPP, etc.
), participate in ITU-R, CEPT, and other regulatory bodies as needed, conduct detailed technical analysis and simulations, and participate in regulatory discussions about orbital debris policy.
Are you up to the challenge? Strategic Thinking:
With broad experience in what it is ability to see the big picture and connect the dots of Conduct detailed spectrum allocations research to analyze non-conforming use of spectrum in support of innovation.
This includes review or applicable technical rules.
Actively participate in regulatory meetings at the ITU, CEPT, FCC, and as needed, in support of Intelsat's positions.
This also includes preparing contributions for these meetings.
Participate in and monitor 3GPP developments to the extent it relates to spectrum allocated to satellites and in support of the Non-Terrestrial Component (NTN) of 5G.
This involves coordinating with Intelsat engineering innovation teams.
Analyze NGSO systems in detail and conduct simulations to verify compliance with ITU rules and determine compatibility with GSO networks and other NGSO systems.
Interact with corporate development team and prepare concise briefings for non-engineers.
Author white papers on technical and regulatory topics related to spectrum allocations and compatibility between services.
You should definitely have:
At least 10-15-year experience in a directly applicable role in the satellite industry.
A master's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Communications Engineering.
Deep understanding of ITU Regulation and the ability to discuss effectively both internally and externally with different constituents.
Thorough understanding of satellite communication systems, the various components that comprise such systems, and design trade-offs.
Communication skills:
Must be able to communicate complex information in writing and verbally through cogent and succinct project plans and business cases.
Proven experience in persuading others through the use of logic and compelling data.
Self-starter - works independently yet able to lead colleagues towards a common goal.
Proficiency in MATALB, Visualyse EPFD, and relevant ITU software.
This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee).
