RemoteJob DescriptionSupport the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization Integration Office (EHRM-IO) program as an Interoperability Technical Expert.
Serve as technical leader in support of ongoing operations and continued monitoring for joint EHR platforms with integrated interoperability tools and solutions, interfaces, hardware and infrastructures that span across multiple federal agency and private sector environments supporting OEHRM interoperable data exchange implementations.
Acts as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems or systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics, and multiple platforms.
Identify potential technical risks to large-scale system to system interface efforts Support any major Incident or other response efforts and support the identification of root causes, courses of actions, and potential solutions Monitor scalability, availability, performance and engineering best practices for a large-scale EHR system, and make recommendations to support multiple concurrent deployments Assess, validate and optimize infrastructure end-to-end systems and architecture Build and validate test environments, identify servers, and interconnections Work with technical leads and systems engineers as SME Lead project teams and initiatives related to EHR systems, infrastructure and deployment Develop roadmaps and plans for next generation capabilities Provide guidance to government executives and technical teams on issues, best practices, and optimal methods Support to ad-hoc engineering analysis in response to incidents to analyze optimization opportunities Validate project deliverables Minimum
Qualifications:

years of professional work experience Experience independently designing and developing new software products or major enhancements to existing software for a healthcare/clinical environment Ability to perform as highest-level technical expert, addressing problems of systems integration, compatibility, healthcare semantics, informatics and multiple platforms Ability to see projects to completion in addition to performing feasibility analysis on potential future projects to management Bachelor's degree in Healthcare IT, computer science, electronics engineering, engineering or technical related field, or an additional 10 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements Preferred
Qualifications:
Significant experience in Network Engineering (10
years) with 5
years on large scale systems Experience with Network Engineering and Internetworking Experience with enterprise network concepts (MPLS, prioritization, segmentation, load balancing, segmentation, continuity of operations) Experience with scalability analysis and modeling Experience with system (end-to-end) performance assessment and optimization Experience with VA and DoD legacy data, private sector data (Health Information Exchange) and Interoperability EHR Viewers Systems integration experience Root cause problem analysis and determination Experience integrating electronic health records Experience supporting in-depth engineering analysis and support to testing (IV&V) expertise - with regards to understanding impacts to Cerner integration from patches Experience performing analysis of existing and proposed data structure, syntax and semantics to understand potential changes based on patch changes Recommended Skills Architecture Clinical Works Data Structures Electrical Engineering Information Technology Infrastructure Management Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
