Logistics Engineering Consultant

Overview LMI is seeking a skilled Logistics Engineer to support projects analyzing and improving 3D Model-Based Definition and other technical data content used in the procurement of manufactured parts and maintenance support for major weapons systems.
This includes all aspects of the 3D Model-Based Definition and Environment necessary to enable a Digital Engineering ecosystem both within and across enterprise boundaries.
This position is a hybrid of remote work/occasional visits to LMI's Tyson's, VA office.

Join the #1 top ranked company by the Washington Post in 2021! Responsibilities Serve as a subject matter expert on technical data creation, exchange, and maintenance, with a focus on 3D models and other digital data.
Concentration on technical data for physical parts design, manufacture, sustainment, and disposition.
Provide subject matter expertise on the generation, acquisition, management, and use of model based technical data within Program Executive Offices (PEO) and Program Management Offices (PMO).
Develop innovative development and test programs to advance the state of art in digital engineering.
Lead and support project teams analyzing the use, content, and format of digital model based (3D) technical data for life cycle support of weapon systems, particularly aligned to operations and sustainment.
Conduct analyses on the adaptation of digital product data and data exchange standards across the Department of Defense (DoD) and its supporting suppliers.
Communicate with clients through informal meetings, written reports, and oral presentations.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical, or aerospace engineering or a related field required.
5 or more years' experience involving use of CAD/CAM software preferred Familiarity with ISO, ANSI, DoD, and other standards for design data and the exchange of product data.
Experience with PEO and PMO operations, particularly their acquisition and use of technical data as part of the weapon system acquisition process is highly desired.
Strong quantitative skills, including the ability to use spreadsheet, database, and project management software.
Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
Available for occasional travel.
Ability to obtain a security clearance.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
