Job Description:
At a time when many companies are looking to strengthen their balance sheets and get back to basics, the twin issues of currency and accuracy come to the fore. Many of the key operations of a tax department managing fixed assets, property tax, inventory and/or tax credits can be enormously time-consuming and complex, not to mention frequently scrutinized by state and federal authorities. In addition, newer developments such as FIN 48 and the advent of IFRS have highlighted the importance of maintaining adequate documentation to support your position. PWC's Tax Projects Delivery Group (TPDG) works with clients on large tax engagements which require a team of specialists with deep tax technical knowledge and experience in key federal tax areas. We can help your company identify permanent cash tax savings and refund opportunities, consider the impact of deductions and credits on your effective tax rate, and apply established methodologies and processes to complex areas of taxation, helping ensure consistency year over year. Position/Program Requirements:
Minimum Years of
Experience: 1 Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business related field provided all of the minimum requirements are met for CPA licensure per respective state regulations Certification(s) Required: CPA or commitment to pass CPA exam before being promoted to Manager and thereafter obtain CPA licensure, Enrolled Agent or Member of the Bar Knowledge Preferred: Working knowledge of corporate tax issues of large organizations with Research and Development budgets. Skills Preferred: Some technical skills with research credit regulations from the IRS, research credit case law, and utilizing R&D; databases. Working experience identifying and addressing client needs: building solid relationships with clients; developing an awareness of Firm services; communicating with the client in an organized and knowledgeable manner; delivering clear requests for information; demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; and communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor. Working experience as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback; providing guidance, clarification and feedback to less-experienced staff.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
