Key Functions
Provide network engineering support, to the DOD, IC and other government sponsors, with a primary focus on securing the network infrastructure.
Interact with customers in analyzing operational requirements and then applying a sound technology solutions based on a systems engineering process
Communicate the results through well-written reports and briefings.
Assist in development and execution of networking R&D; for internal or sponsor-funded opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications
Required:
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology and/or equivalent technical discipline.
Strong knowledge of the TCP/IP protocol suite and the ability to perform experiments in the lab to support network research, design, and analysis.
Understanding of network security technologies including Intrusion Detection, Firewalls, DMZ, VPNs, and common network level vulnerabilities.
Programming or scripting experience e.g. C, C++, C#, Java, Python, and/or Perl.
Strong written, verbal, briefing, analytical, and organizational skills.
Desired:
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software
Engineering, Information Technology and/or equivalent technical
discipline.
2 years of related experience.
Pertinent certifications, such as CISSP and/or CCIE Security.
Knowledge of Cyber Offense and Defense tools and technologies.
Experience with communications networking protocols and applications.
In depth knowledge of routing protocols (e.g. OSPF, BGP, OLSR), MPLS, QoS, and other WAN protocols, Type-1 and commercial cryptographic devices and technologies (e.g. HAIPE, IPSec).
Strong knowledge of routers, switches, IDS/IPS, and load balancers.
Experience with test and analysis tools (e.g. network traffic generators/analyzers, probes, and/or simulation/emulation tools).
Interest in applied R&D;, design, development, and analysis.

This position will require overnight travel up to 10 % of the time as well as some local travel.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
